Summary: Our stay at the Boate House was great. The cottage was clean and comfortable and surprisingly spacious. The view was amazing and the swimming and paddling was a daily event. Everyone had a wonderful time. It’s very close to the marina for ice cream, coffee or other necessities. The roads are a bit busy but we still did lots of jogging, dog walking and exploring. It was calm and quiet- despite it being a large lake- and we enjoyed our evening sunset watching every night.

Summary: Very nice property, great view and love the lake. Had great amenities, very convenient. Also had a lot to do; kayaking, canoeing, biking, swimming, and wildlife reserve. Overall, a great trip!

Summary: My family spent a week at the Boate House, and it did not disappoint! Upon arrival, we were stunned to see how close the actual cottage is to the waterfront. The view from the primary bedroom, family room and kitchen is incredible. Kennisis Lake is clear, clean and warm. The cottage was clean and just as listed. Furnishings (beds, couch) are comfortable and kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots, glasses and dishes. Having a dishwasher and washer/dryer available made us feel spoiled! It was very handy to have a two piece washroom in the main bedroom, in addition the shower in the other. We spent most of our time on the dock enjoying the water. Swimming and boating (with the kayak, SUP and canoe) made it easy to enjoy the stunning lakefront. We made a trip to Haliburton for a little shopping and lunch, visited the Wolf Centre and hiked in Algonquin Highlands during our stay. Ken was an excellent and attentive host. We didn’t have any issues during our stay, but before our visit Ken reached out and provided a thorough welcome document that included all details for the cottage. It was well laid out and answered any questions we may have had. I did have a couple of questions before our visit, and they were answered by Ken within an hour or two. Overall, my family had an excellent stay at the Boate House. Out teenage daughters had an “awesome time and would recommend the cottage to their friends!” Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us Ken!

Summary: We are a family of multi generations (teenagers to elderly) that love cottaging for many years together. I understand finding a cottage that meets most of our requirements is difficult. This being said, the kids loved the lily pad and all the water toys. The marina and public boat launch are close by for boating needs, ice cream, entertainment or just grab a few grocery requirements. Closest town is Haliburton which is about 20min away. We enjoyed the Wolf Center 4min away. Some of the details of the cottage are misleading which was a bit frustrating considering I asked several specific questions. The entry into the water from the cement steps is not safe. Access is jumping in and climbing in/out via ladder - there is no wading in. There is no green space to play an outdoor game which we were told there was - the small long grassed septic patch was a disappintment after being told there was a badminton net. The rental advertised bikes - we found them with flat tires at the back of the cottage next to the basketball net laying on the ground. The deck and outdoor furniture/cushions have seen their day. We had to shuffle our sleeping arrangements because the double beds are excessively high - like counter height. On the bright side, my dad did enjoy the queen bed to himself as it was the only one he could get into. I just wish we were given more accurate information as the rental details were limiting and I don' think my questions were answered fairly prior to booking.

Summary: This cottage has been tastefully modernized, very comfortable. Great lakeside location, fun things to do in the neighbourhood in addition to on the waterfront. Dinner on the deck watching the sunset was wonderful.

Summary: We had a fabulous time at this cottage - the sunset views are fantastic and the cottage has all the comforts you could ask for. The lily-pad was a real hit with the kids, as were the kayaks and SUP. Blueberry picking on the island was a highlight. Thanks very much for a great week!

Summary: Perfect location for a family holiday on one of the nicest lakes in the area. Lots of toys included such as kayaks, wake boards & a Lilly pad float that all the kids enjoyed including the adults. The long dock gave comfort for the whole family to sit and enjoy their company. This cottage is cosy, cute & has all the comforts of home.
